Our Town Car Show in Coral Springs 2/20/00
by Mike Lukens

6am - I'm up and washing the car.....what am I NUTS???  It's Car show day. Get the car dried with no water marks, wipe down all the door jambs, wipe down the engine bay.   It's now 7:15 am.....have to run the vacuum....hope the neighbors are awake!!

Drive to Coral Springs....Joel is on the cell phone looking for
directions.....I don't know where it is either but I have seen a map.  He
says he will wait for me and follow me in.  We find the Show and get parked.

Ted Jacobs son showed up later as did Paul Sochocki.....so we had four Impala but we couldn't get them together.

They parked show cars on the road right in front of our Impala......
didn't like that at all.

The Mustang right beside us got the Best Paint Award.....
it looked nice but I wouldn't want it.

Here is one sharp 55 Chevy with an LT1 in it.....even though the rocker
covers say LT-1 we know better!!  He's usually at all the local shows and
cruise-ins.....nice car!!

This '62 Impala won Best of Show.....it was NICE.

This '39 Fire Truck also won an award for most unusual or something.

The day was hot and there was dust blowing everywhere from the dirt parking lot just across the street.  We dusted the cars MANY times trying to keep them looking nice.   I had the blue tent to provide some shade so we sat there most of the time.   We saw lots of neat cars but it was a small show as shows go.  Not sure I would enter this one again next year.
